Gah, Been waiting for a call all day, only to discover that my carrier has been down all day… not happy! No real sign of when it will be back up again, just a currently investigating on the website, though at least they acknowledge the problem on the website. I need to know whether I got this job offer or not though

That pretty much describes every suburb surrounding my house… and no sign of when it will be fixed

TORCHWOOD Children Of Earth

So I finally got around to watching TORCHWOOD: CHILDREN OF EARTH over the last few days, and I must say, the bad guys in this series the 456 are REALLY creepy, like, thanks now I’m scared of the dark again kind of creepy, and they never reveal the whole of them so you never get to see it for all its worth,the 456 ambassador is hidden behind a toxic veil of gas which acts as a substitute for their atmosphere and allows them to breath on our planet. It reminds me of finally having an open conversation with every creepy feeling or random something you saw out of the corner of your eye that you have ever had, combined into one horrible creature.

Some amazing story writing and acting went into this and it really blew me away.

It’s extremely heart wrenching Sci-Fi and I can’t recommend watching it enough.

Love Newcastle Gloria Jean’s Coffee

The Gloria Jean’s Coffee is now my #1 destination for Newcastle city coffee having, they have internode business broadband with a belkin wireless router, with no wifi security and a blank password

So .. I can host a server, change dmz, configure my own firewall rules, setup a wpa key, and save their router config, open it in notepad, take their internode login and use it to purchase services with internode… good times… hmm I could host a virtual squid proxy on my laptop and force all the users through it so they have upside-down-ternet

I let them know before they get any drama’s, I’ll check back in a week and see if they have fixed it up

Van Wagon Away!

So I had an old van hanging around in the drive for a while, and what was going to be a project quickly turned into something that would require more funds and time than I was willing to sink into it.

I had an acquaintance on the internet, and he was in need of a van, so I said he could have it, so long as he got it going himself.

$10 litres and petrol and a new battery and the 1988 VanWagon burst into life and DROVE itself away, considering it was TOWED to my house I consider this venture a success, and have decided never to do the “Project Car” thing again until I have a better house/garage and I have a budget to work with

Had a lot of good memories in that van, my Grandfather purchased it brand new 1 owner it’s whole life, loads of family road trips and I’ve used it moving house and it even kept me employed for a few months, I’m sad to see it leave but I know it will see a lot more of the world this way instead of sitting in my drive rusting

So… Haven’t made a post in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time and this will basically be a brief unthoughtful re-cap of recent events to break the ice and maybe explain where I have been, and hopefully more posts will follow in closer succession than this one to its predecessor.

Okay, very VERY brief outline.

1. yes went to new share house, have since left.
2. Vicki got a job in Newcastle at Aristocrat (they make poker machines)
3. I left my job in Sydney, now living full time in Newcastle (Maitland, but nobody knows where that is)
4. I’m currently attending university and working at Domino’s Pizza again
5. gay housemate moved out
6. Ametra and Dryw have moved into his room and now its just the 4 of us
7. Me, the wife, Ametra and Dryw all met Boydee at the reptile park… fun was had, Asian tourists were ridiculed, old people were ridiculed, jail bait were ridiculed, Dave was extremely noisy, tortoises were ridden, etc etc
8. joined the gym at the uni and am back on the weightloss wagon, current weight 180KG’s (ZOMFG)
9. I finally got myself a decent graphics card again (ATI HD 4770) so now I can install EVERYTHING!
